Local Shout Out: La Choza

I thought it was the perfect day for another local shout out, and this shout out is oh-so-special. I’m sharing one of my favorite restaurants in Santa Fe. It’s no secret that La Choza is both a Santa Fe favorite and staple, it’s packed like E V E R Y day of the week. As we say in my house “La Choza is always worth the wait”. This spot is located in the old adobe headquarters of the old Mercer Ranch, let’s talk about atmosphere. It’s warm, cozy, colorful and smells delicious!

La Choza is some of the best New Mexican food in town and very popular with the locals, so be sure to make a reservation, but h o n e s t l y it’s always worth the wait. La Choza opened in 1983 and has award winning red and green chile. The restaurant is still located in it’s old adobe building (905 Alarid St) and is the perfect spot for authentic dishes like enchiladas or chile rellenos. I ALWAYS get posole which is a soup made from Nixtamal corn. Ask for it Mexican style with shredded cabbage, radish and avocado! Plus, they have one of my favorite margaritas in town, the Silver Coin.

May your weekend consist of rest and relaxation, good food and fun times. Sending you all my good vibes!

XO,

Andie
