Feeling extra prickly and grumpy this Monday. The weekend went by far too quickly. It felt like I had a ton of time and no time at all. That doesn’t make sense, I know, but my brain rarely thinks logically.

I have a horrible habit of overextending myself sometimes. I commit to too many things, thinking I can accomplish them all. These past few weeks have been incredibly draining and it’s rather frustrating. I feel like I’ve had zero energy + zero inspiration, resulting in zero motivation. And the most frustrating part is, I really have no one to blame but myself.

While I’m quite comfortable wallowing in my own negative feelings and frustrations, I think it’s actually healthier for me to allow myself to ease out of this rut without being too hard on myself. I want to make this week a week of encouragement. Whether its a creative rut, a workout rut or just a general life rut you’re experiencing, I wanted to share some encouraging words that will hopefully inspire, encourage and help all of us get out of whatever rut we’re in. And if you’re not in a rut, these words are just an overall great reminder to keep on keepin’ on.

  1. “Quit looking for approval; give away love.” -Bob Goff
  2. When you are struggling
    in your
    writing (art).
    it usually means
    you
    are hearing one thing.
    but
    writing (creating) another.

  3. “Part of doing something is listening. We are listening. To the sun. To the stars. To the wind.”
    -Madeleine L’Engle
  4. “Accept that not everyone will understand you, that every soul is its own equation. While you may appear as little more than senseless gibberish to some, others will need only a single look to get a grasp of who you are. Never dull, dumb down, or adjust yourself to fit somewhere you don’t belong.” -Beau Taplin
  5. “You are worth finding. worth knowing. worth loving. you + all your one million layers. always hold that close.” -Danielle Doby

Wishing you the very best week possible!

love,
NG
