Hello internet friends, IRL friends, friends of friends – FRIENDS – how are you?
It’s Monday and that means it’s time for 5 things from me, Andie! In usual fashion my 5 things are random because my brain jumps around ALL the things, ALL the time. Lately I’ve felt scattered and stretched a little too thin, I know we all have times like that in life but I’m having the hardest time getting out of my little rut and seeing the world as bright and shiny and full of hope. SOOOO, the following things have been getting me through, making me feel excited or inspired and I hope they do the same for you!
- This remix of HAIM’s song Your Love, Your Love – BloodPop Remix (I’ve been living off of it for the last month, which means I listen to it at lest 4 times a day)!
- We are OH SO CLOSE, to Season 2 of ‘Stranger Things‘ and I’m just SUPER excited about it and thrilled it’s coming out so close to Halloween (October 27th)!
- I’ve been in a funk after my 30th birthday and not doing all the things to take care of myself – so I’m doing another ‘food detox’. I want to share more of what that looks like for me, so more on that later this week!
- I’m TOTALLY crushing on this J.Crew sweatshirt… “Amour“
- This poem!!!!!
Phenomenal WomanBY MAYA ANGELOUPretty women wonder where my secret lies.I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s sizeBut when I start to tell them,They think I’m telling lies.I say,It’s in the reach of my arms,The span of my hips,The stride of my step,The curl of my lips.I’m a womanPhenomenally.Phenomenal woman,That’s me.I walk into a roomJust as cool as you please,And to a man,The fellows stand orFall down on their knees. Then they swarm around me,A hive of honey bees.I say,It’s the fire in my eyes,And the flash of my teeth,The swing in my waist,And the joy in my feet.I’m a womanPhenomenally.Phenomenal woman,That’s me.Men themselves have wonderedWhat they see in me.They try so muchBut they can’t touchMy inner mystery. When I try to show them,They say they still can’t see.I say,It’s in the arch of my back,The sun of my smile,The ride of my breasts,The grace of my style.I’m a womanPhenomenally.Phenomenal woman,That’s me.Now you understandJust why my head’s not bowed.I don’t shout or jump aboutOr have to talk real loud. When you see me passing,It ought to make you proud.I say,It’s in the click of my heels,The bend of my hair, the palm of my hand,The need for my care.’Cause I’m a womanPhenomenally.Phenomenal woman,That’s me.
