Best Dog Day
Charles Schulz knew what he was talking about when he said “happiness is a warm puppy”. Animals have a way of both stealing your heart and healing your soul. I recently watched a video about one of the last living dogs (Bretagne) who helped in one of the ground zero search and rescue teams. For Bretagne’s 16th birthday a bunch of people and places in NYC decided to honor her and give her and her Mom the best dog day! I was so inspired by this that I wanted to give my own pup a special day to say thanks for making life bright. I shared the video linked above with Nicole who also has a pup friend named Peepers. We decide to make some special treats, Pumpkin-Bacon Bites and Puppy Pops as well as spend the day on long walks, playing fetch and of course lots of pets.
I’ve always grown up with pets and have never really been without a dog or a cat but I can’t really put into words what a special relationship there is between humans and animals. For me they are an instant source of comfort in what can feel like a very anxious world. So, if you have a pet or just see one out for morning walk stop and share the love!
Here’s some fun pictures we both snapped with our pups!
Meet Peepers, she’s 12 and classy A F.
